What is driving the price increases for food in China? (see details)?

The prices of meat, vegetables, grains, and rice have risen substantially over the last few months in China. A chicken that cost 20 yuan at the market just 6 months ago now costs 40 or even 50 yuan. Onions have also doubled in price. What is happening?
